Surreal Lunchtime Walks

Surreal Lunchtime Walks

I’m a big lunchtime walker. A few years ago, I realized that taking a walk during lunch when school was in session was a great way for me to decompress for a bit and enjoy nature. I loved looking at people’s gardens in my neighborhood and seeing what was blooming and growing. It’s also a lot easier than trying to scarf down a meal in less than 30 minutes!

I have continued this trend during the first two weeks in DC. Except here in DC, lunchtime walks are just … surreal. I am a HUGE history buff and being in DC is a little like letting a kid loose in the candy store. Here are some photos from my lunchtime journeys during Week 1 training in Alexandria and Week 2 spent at NASA HQ, which is just south of the mall and the US Capital.
